Why to keep Product type 'Event' on your experience products

Every experiences created by Experiences App will be created in Shopify as a Shopify product. The app saves the Product type field as 'Event'. If you change this field to anything else it will remove the event from your list of events in the app admin panel, and it will hide the booking widget from the product on your storefront.

This will eventually go away as we transition the app to a new version in 2019, but for now you must keep this field as it comes.

In the meantime, we suggest using product tags to classify your experience products. In fact, tags are much more useful for Shopify than Product type. Take a look at some ways the Shopify recommends using tags.
