Cancel your Experiences subscription and uninstall the app

To cancel your Experiences subscription, uninstall the app from Shopify. Learn what happens to billing and your data.

To cancel your Experiences subscription, uninstall the Experiences app from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling stops all new charges.

If something is not working for you, please contact us before you uninstall. We may be able to help.

What happens when you uninstall

  • Your subscription is cancelled and new charges stop. You pay only for charges made up to the time you uninstall.

  • Customers can no longer book experiences on your online store.

  • Within 48 hours, we permanently delete all of your Experiences data, as Shopify's privacy rules require. This includes your experiences, schedules, bookings, and guest details. We cannot restore it.

  • Your orders stay in Shopify.

  • Products for your experiences stay in Shopify. If you do not want customers to buy them as normal products, set them to Draft or delete them in Products.

Before you uninstall

Important: Export your orders first. After your data is deleted, you cannot get it back. See Export your orders to a CSV file.

Tell customers who have upcoming bookings what will happen to their booking.

Uninstall Experiences

  1. In your Shopify admin, click Settings.

  2. Click Apps.

  3. Find Experiences App in your list of installed apps. Click ⋯ next to it, then click Uninstall.

  4. Shopify asks you to confirm. Click Uninstall.

Your subscription is now cancelled. You will not be charged again for bookings after the Uninstall date.

Find these steps in Experiences

The Billing page in Experiences also shows you how to uninstall. The Cancel subscription button does not cancel your subscription. It shows the steps above.

  1. In your Shopify admin, open the Experiences app.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Billing.

  4. Click Cancel subscription.

  5. A window shows how to uninstall. To close it, click Keep subscription.

Optional: Remove the Experiences template from your theme

Experiences adds a template file named product.experiences.json to your theme. You do not need to delete it. Keeping it does no harm.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

  2. Next to your theme, click ⋯, then click Edit code.

  3. Open the templates folder.

  4. Find product.experiences.json. Click ⋯ next to it, then click Delete and confirm.

Yes. You can install Experiences again from the Shopify App Store at any time. If your data was already deleted, you start with a new setup.
